Mengku Ancient Tree Arbor King Green Pu-erh Tea Cake Sample
The ancient tree materials harvested at 2013 in Mengku, Lincang were used to make this premium tea cake. It is minimally processed, sun-dried, and stone-compressed, allowing it to preserve its natural enzymes and evolve continuously over decades.
The Mengku tea region is dominated by dramatic alpine geography, spanning high-altitude mountains, old tea trees thrive at elevations between 1,800 to 2,750 meters, producing leaves rich in polyphenols and vital minerals. The tea is hand-plucked from arbor trees that range anywhere from 100 to over 500 years old. These deep-rooted trees absorb intense underground complexity, providing a far heavier mouthfeel, lower chemical bitterness, and stronger energetic properties than younger plantation bushes.
Take a look at the impressive leaves at the surface of the cake. No wonder it was called as a tea 'King'. The infusion yields a strong liquor but finishes with a sweet aftertaste. Loads of potentials!
Because of its thick leaf structure, Mengku raw tea is prized by collectors for its incredible lifespan. Over years of clean storage, the bright green, grassy astringency deepens into a smooth, chestnut-red broth with complex notes of dried fruits, wood, and dark molasses.
