2008 Yueguangbai Premium Pu-erh Tea Cake Sample

The pesticide testing has been conducted on this tea, and the tea passed the test against multiple chemicals with flying colors.

Yue Guang Bai (literally Moonlight White) tea from Jinggu, is something which does not fall into any tea category, due to its special processing technique. I would place it into the Oolong category, some people would call it a white tea.

This tea is made from big white hair big tea leaves from Jinggu, Simao. After picking the fresh leaves; the tea leaves are withered  in the night (under the moonlight, so it got its name); that causes some interior oxidation by the interior enzymes. Its tea broth and aroma is very similiar to a black tea. The tea broth color turns to more and more red after several infusions.

I used to have reservations on this kind tea, but a simple brew got me hooked. What surprised me was that it could be aged and nice. It's smooth, sweet, and aromatic, it's one of a kind.

If in doubt, try this to get acquainted 2013 Yue Guang Bai Premium Loose Leaf Tea 50g.
