11/02: They wanted it back

As is customary for a supplier in China to buy back he sold, if I got it, his stock is sold out and more clients are asking for it.

I got a call last Christmas from China, the supplier who sold me this tea:

1998 CNNP 7542 Green Pu-erh Tea Cake 357g

He said, whatever stock you got, you can sell me back at a price you won't regret.

Really, I joked, what if I was asking for doubling the price I paid?

He answered: I don't see a problem if you can sell all stock you got back to me.

I replied: let me think about it.

My thought was: 1. How crazy Chinese market had turned to; 2. I did have a few teas I could cash back if I needed.

As for the tea, I meant, 1998 CNNP 7542 Green Pu-erh Tea Cake 357g it was good as always, even thought it did not age much further in USA since May 2011 - that's how I liked it, as is.

In the past, a few people claimed this tea was a fake, being mislabeled as an old tea and all that.

To me, I don't want a 'wet storaged' junk from Guangzhou.

Guess who is laughing now?
