13/06: Wonderful Jinggu Ripe Pu-erh Tea

We all know that the best ripe Pu-erh tea comes from Menghai area. But ...

The Jinggu Pu-erh tea is considered as one of the bests, these raw green teas from Jinggu are famous, including 'Dabeihao', 'Purple Leaf' and etc. however, its ripe teas are largely unknown.

I remembered I tasted a great ripe tea in Junggu back in 2010 (I did not buy it because of its high price tag). In 2013 Spring while I was chasing the best ripe Pu-erh tea all over the places, I encountered some great Jinggu ripe Pu-erh teas again.

My discovery was that Jinggu ripe tea was among the best your money can buy.

You may ask why? Well, it offered an unique ripe tea experience. Unlike a Menghai ripe tea that could be tasted earthy, pondy and fishy, Jinggu ripe tea can be a very pure, sweet affair with little 'off' smell and wonderful taste. It might make a ripe Pu-erh tea more acceptable to your average tea drinkers.

In addition, I would say the harvest from Jinggu was mostly no-chemical/big-tree stuff. The evidence: when you finish a brewing session with a Jinggu ripe tea, the throat feeling was just comfortable and nice.

One last thing, Jinggu ripe tea is not all that expensive for us to enjoy day in and day out.

We are happy to say that we are going to have more than half dozen Jinggu ripe teas to offer at our web shop soon.
