07/10: 2010 Fall Tea Trip, Part VII

I had blogged that 5 American Hao teas were going to be made in 2010 and most of them were available now at our webshop.

However, the last American Hao 1005, a small ripen brick is going to be delayed ...

I had been very picky when American Hao 1005 was being made. I had tried a number of loose leaf ripen teas, the candidates before being compressed into a final product. Two teas were coming close to be chosen, but abandoned at the last minute. One candidate, a 2004 tea was too weak even it tasted good, another candidate, a 2008 tea was simply too expensive for our clients.

I realized that there was no way to make a perfect product, a compromise had to be made.

The day I left China was the date I decided on American Hao 1005. It had to be inexpensive and clean, and it should brew a thick tasty Menghai soup for many times.

So, our American Hao 1005 is delayed, it would not be available untill Christmas holiday.

Also in 2010, most of our offerings are made without an inner ticket - a piece of paper embedded at the surface of the compressed tea. The inner ticket is a bad idea to me, it's the contamination, and it's a nuisance to get rid of it.
