13/09: Youle Tea

Youle is one of the ancient six famous tea mountains, possibly the first tea mountain recorded in the history book on Pu-erh tea.

Since we got so many Yiwu teas, I think I know enough about it. The next tea mountain we could move to is Youle mountain. The good news is that soon we should have a few Youle teas after two arrived today.

In the past, we got a Guoyan's pure Youle tea cake, which I still had a small portion of it left. If you ask my impression, I cannot say I was impressed by it. Guoyan's 2005 Youle tea cake had a great appearance, with some huge leaves spreading inside out. While it was looking great but the taste is a bit on the plain side (bland), not strong, not floral, just so common as a green Pu-erh. But it costed more than $ 50 to buy back then, and all of it were sold out.

Our new 2008 Cheshun Hao Youle Arbor Pu-erh Tea Cake stands out as an exciting tea. First of all, it is aromatic, and its soup is oily thick, some strong taste with a little bitterness. It is a stronger version of our 2006 Douji Yiwu Mountain Arbor Pu-erh Tea Cake. I believe some critics would suggest it's better for aging.

Tomorrow I will try our new 2006 Youle Wild Arbor Pu-erh Tea Cake, I hope it's equally impressive and I would gain some understanding on Youle tea.

Due to our limited stock, we don't have it as a sample fo sale.

I was thinking to re-order more of it after I tried it - that pretty much showed my appreciation towards this cake.
